MPC Win VES Award for Special Venue Project

The 14th annual VES awards took place on the 2nd February at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, California and MPC is proud to have won the award for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Special Venue Project for their work on the Universal Studios attraction, Fast and Furious: Supercharged.

Opened on June 25, 2015 as part of the Studio Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood, Fast and Furious: Supercharged takes guests on an exhilarating 3D chase which uses hydraulics and HD images projected onto the world most expansive 360-degree screen.

MPC worked on the visual effects for 3 movies in the franchise, Fast & Furious 5, 6 and 7, but this was the first time the team had created visual effects for an immersive theme park ride.

Congratulations to the entire team who made this win possible through their hard work and creativity.

There was also success for MPC Advertising 2D artist Andreas Feix, who joined the 2D department in 2015 after graduating from FilmAkademie. Andreas picked up the Outstanding Visual Effects in a Student Project award for his film Citipati.

MPC Film's ‘The Martian’ was nominated for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature and MPC Advertising's multi-award winning IKEA 'T-shirts’ was nominated for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Commercial.

MPC Creative & MPC VR received their first ever nomination, for the ‘Goosebumps’ VR Adventure in the Special Venue Project category.
